Slipway Construction at Al Dabiyya Abu Dhabi UAE
Slipway
is a pier with a ramp for moving ships or boats into and out of the sea.
They’re utilized for launching and recovering small boats on trailers carried by vehicles and flying boats on their undercarriage,
as well as building and repairing ships and boats.
Simple slipways
A slipway is a simple ramp constructed of concrete, steel, stone, or even wood in its most basic form. A slip’s utility may be limited by the tide’s height: unless the ramp continues deep below the low water level, it may not be usable during low tide. On the landward end, there is usually a flat paved space.
The vessel is carried on a wheeled carriage, which is run down the ramp until the vessel may float on or off the carriage when used for building and repairing boats or small ships (i.e. ships of little more than 300 tonnes). Slipways like this are used for both repairs and launching newly constructed vessels into the water.
The lifeboat and slipway are built such that the lifeboat slides down a somewhat steep steel slip under gravity,
to ensure a safe launch of some types of land-based lifeboats in poor weather and difficult sea conditions.

Slipway Construction
Slipways are only utilized during the building of big ships.
They might be parallel or perpendicular to the shoreline (or as nearly so as the water and maximum length of the vessel allow).
When the vessel is launched, it slides down the slipway on the ways until it floats on its own.
